Recognizing the 11th Year of World Thrombosis Day: Women and Thrombosis
ISTH released the following statement, recognizing the need for increased awareness of the thrombosis risk factors women face. Read below or find the statement here.
“As we commemorate the 11th year of World Thrombosis Day (WTD), we reflect on the significant strides made in addressing thrombosis-related conditions while acknowledging the challenges that remain. Established to raise awareness about thrombosis—a potentially life-threatening condition—WTD plays a crucial role in educating both the public and healthcare professionals about the importance of prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. This year’s focus—women and thrombosis—highlights the unique risk factors women face throughout their lives, particularly during pregnancy and menopause, and emphasizes the need for increased awareness and action within the medical community.”
