Celebrate World Sickle Cell Day, June 19, 2016
June 19th is World Sickle Cell Day. Sickle cell disease (SCD) is a group of inherited red blood cell disorders that affect millions of people worldwide. SCD can cause pain and other serious problems such as infection, vision loss, and stroke, and can lead to lifelong disabilities and reduce average life expectancy.
