This state-of-the-science Webinar will focus on the care of transgender individuals, highlighting specific issues and needs that these individuals may have, including the prevention of thrombosis/thrombophilia. The faculty will address gender-affirming hormone therapy for transgender individuals and the risk/incidence of venous thromboembolism, especially for menopausal cisgender women receiving hormonal therapy; interpreting laboratory levels in setting hormone levels; the medical and treatment strategies that are in use and recommended; and the necessary collaboration between disciplines for its effective management and treatment.
