Program Description

This state-of-the-science Webinar will detail and disseminate information related to the recently updated American Society of Hematology (ASH) Clinical Guidelines for Immune Thrombocytopenia (ITP), provided by expert faculty. The webinar will review the evidence-based recommendations and guidelines covering the management of ITP. In addition, special focus will be on the maternal and potential fetal considerations professionals must address in making evidence-based decisions about optimal first- and second-line management that may or may not have been covered in these recent guidelines.

At the conclusion of this Webinar, participants will be able to: 

  • Review the process for developing the 2019 ASH ITP Clinical Guidelines, as well as their strengths and limitations
  • Understand the clinical importance of, and apply to practice, the 2019 ASH ITP Clinical Practice Guidelines
  • Recognize and understand differences in recommendations in these guidelines compared to those developed by other organizations
  • Discuss and describe the potential maternal and fetal consequences of ITP and considerations professionals must address in making decisions regarding management of women with ITP
